In a remarkable achievement at the international Quran competition held in Tehran, Iran, Bangladeshi teenager Hafez Boshir Ahmed secured the first place, surpassing competitors from 110 countries in the 30 Para Quran group. Bashir, a student of Markazut Tahfiz International Madrasa in Dhaka, completed his Hifz in just five months.

The final results were announced by the state organizing committee in Iran, confirming Bashir’s victory. His teacher, Sheikh Neshar Ahammed An Nasiri, a renowned Hifz instructor, shared the news with Dhaka Post.

Bashir Ahmed, the son of Mr. Abdur Rashid Choudhury and Bushra Choudhury, hails from Begunai village in Lakhai Upazila of Habiganj. He previously achieved third place in an international Quran competition in Algiers, Algeria, ten days before his latest victory and had won first place in the Huffazul Quran Foundation competition in 2022.

Return from Iran

Upon his triumphant return to Bangladesh, a reception is planned at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka by Markazut Tahfiz International Madrasa and Quran enthusiasts. Sheikh Nechar Ahmed An Nasiri invites everyone to join the celebration in honor of Hafez Bashir Ahmed.

The Tehran International Quran Competition, initiated in 1982 with participants from 12 countries including Malaysia, Bangladesh, India, Iraq, Syria, Guinea, Algeria, and Libya, has grown to include Quran reciters from various countries, making it a week-long international event.
